Scars result from the biological process of wound repair in the skin. Scarring is a natural part of the healing process.
Acne scars fall into two main categories: those caused by a loss of tissue (atrophic scars), and those caused by an excess of tissue (hypertrophic scars)
Approximately 80% of scars are atrophic associated with a net loss of collagen during the matrix remodeling process.
Different types of scars require different treatments. Your age and how long you’ve had the scar may also affect the types of treatment that will work best for you.

An aesthetician will place a chemical solution over the area of your skin where scarring occurs. When the peel is removed, a layer of skin lifts away to reveal a smoother layer of skin. Chemical peels require multiple treatments and are best for surface-level scars.
Dermapen Microneedling Treatment / $140 - 60min
The Dermapen adjustable needles penetrate a controlled depth into the dermis. The dermis develops multiple micro bruises, which start a cascade of growth factor release and collagen production. Punch biopsy histology demonstrates thickening of the skin with dramatic increases in new collagen and elastin fibers. As collagen is deposited, the skin texture improves. Results are initially seen in six weeks.

Mesotherapy can help target a range of skincare issues from sagging skin to acne scars. Most commonly, a mixture of growth factors and peptides will be inserted to help stimulate skin cell production and increase the production of collagen, aka what keeps our skin plump, tight, and supple.
